Harvest - Advanced Pricing for Food
Advanced Pricing for Food – User
Guide
Overview
Advanced
Pricing for Food extends standard Business Central pricing by enabling the
system to search across multiple Sales Price Lists - based on the Customer
Price Group assigned to the Sell‑to or Ship‑to customer - to determine the
correct unit price using:
- Total quantity of all items
on the order
- Total net
weight of all items
- Total gross
weight of all items
This
enhancement supports food distributors and manufacturers who require:
- Bracket‑based
pricing driven by total order quantity or weight
- Ship‑to-specific
pricing, where different locations for the same customer may have different
pricing rules
Using
Bracket Pricing, multiple Sales Price Lists are linked to Customer Price
Groups. When a customer is assigned to a Price Group, the system automatically
evaluates the appropriate price list based on the bracket ranges.
Example:
Ketchup appears on
two price lists:
- Price List 1 → Maximum
quantity 9 → $20.00 per case
- Price List 2 → Minimum quantity 10 → $18.00 per
case
When
entering a sales order:
- Default price =
$20.00
- If total
quantity exceeds 10, the system automatically reprices to $18.00
Before You Start
Before
using Advanced Pricing for Food, ensure:
- The Harvest
– Advanced Pricing for Food extension is installed from Microsoft Marketplace.
How to use Advanced Pricing for Food
Bracket Pricing
Setup Bracket Groups
Bracket
Groups define the minimum and maximum levels used to determine which Sales
Price List applies. A single Bracket Group Code may be shared across multiple
Customer Price Groups. Numbering is flexible and can follow any scheme.
When the "Show Applied Message" flag is set to "True", a message will show each time the order is released, confirming that Bracket Pricing has been applied.
Customer Price Groups
Bracket Based On
Defines
how the system calculates the bracket total:
- Total Qty. – Sum of all
quantities on the sales order
- Total Net
Weight – Sum of (quantity × item net weight)
- Total Gross
Weight – Sum of (quantity × item gross weight)

Assign Bracket Groups to Customer
Price Groups
When
configuring:
- Ensure bracket
ranges do not overlap
- Ensure the final
bracket maximum covers the full expected range for the selected
Bracket Based On method

How Bracket Pricing Works
When Bracket Pricing is set up, the user enters a sales order and the unit price will default on the sales order lines:
When the quantity is entered, and the order is released, the order will update with the appropriate bracket pricing:
If set up to do so, a confirmation message will display, confirming the update:
Ship‑to Pricing Setup
New Field on Ship‑to Address
A
new field is added:
This
allows Ship‑to locations to have pricing rules different from the Sell‑to
customer.

How Ship‑to Pricing Works
Sales Order Header
If
a Ship‑to Code is selected on the Shipping and Billing FastTab:

- The system uses
the Customer Price Group from the Ship‑to Address
- This overrides
the Sell‑to Customer’s Customer Price Group
Sales Order Lines
Pricing
on each line is recalculated using:
- The Ship‑to
Customer Price Group
- The associated
Bracket Group
- The applicable
Sales Price List Code
