This feature adds an informational prompt in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to help users identify when multiple sales orders exist for the same customer and delivery date. It is designed to reduce duplicate entries and improve order accuracy for Harvest customers.
When a Requested Delivery Date is entered on a Sales Order, the system checks whether any other orders for the same Sell-to Customer already exist for that date. If found, a warning message will alert the user before continuing.
This feature is informational only and does not block users from proceeding.
Navigate to Sales & Receivables Setup and enable the following fields:
Warn for Multiple Sales Orders on Same Delivery Date
Ignore Location for Multiple Sales Orders on Same Delivery Date (optional)
If “Ignore Location…” is enabled, the system will not include the Location Code when checking for other orders.
Open the Sales Order page (Page 42).
Enter a Sell-to Customer.
Enter a Requested Delivery Date.
➤ If another Order exists (in Sales Header, Table 36) for the same Sell-to Customer and Requested Delivery Date (and Location, unless ignored):
The system will display:
“The customer has an existing order for this delivery date (Order XXXXXXX). Do you want to proceed with this order?”
| Option | Action Taken |
|---|---|
| Yes | Proceed with creating the new Sales Order |
| No | New order is deleted, and the existing order is opened automatically |
You create a Sales Order for Customer A with a delivery date of 9/12/2025.
Customer A already has an order for that same date.
You will receive the warning.
If you click No, the system will delete the new entry and redirect you to the existing order.
Prevents unintentional duplication of Sales Orders
Provides users with real-time visibility into existing orders
Ensures cleaner data and more accurate fulfillment planning
Simple, configurable logic with minimal disruption to workflows
